Nostalgia

These singing wavelets
Lull me into memories of a past;
I swing safe in the hands
Of a caring soul.
What if my skin got peeled off
As I craweled on rough stones!

These whispering sands
Tell me about stories untold;
I lie in the warmth
Of a motherly womb.
What if my ears got pierced
As I went through cruel sounds!

These flying birds
Sing me into lands far off;
I float aloof in the heights
Of the blue sky.
What if my feet got weary
As I tread along thorny paths!

Deers in the rescue camp

In the name of rescuing us
From unseen dangers
You have driven us away from our green home.
Thanks for the safety of the wall
With massive locks for its gates
All what we can do
Is to pose for your eyes,
Your cruel eyes!

In the name of feeding us
With your limited rations
You have taken us away from our fresh leaves.
Thanks for the openness of the cell
With unbound sky as its roof
All what we have to do
Is to bake our bodies,
Our bare bodies!

In the name of saving us
From unseen marshes
You have chased us away from our sweet spring.
Thanks for the dryness of the floor
With hot earth under our feet
All what we can do
Is to parch our throats,
Our dying throats

Loneliness

These iron grills, giant grills keep me away
From the light and sound so enchanting
Very near to me, yet far off.
My sighs rise up
To the wilderness of the sky;
I wish, my dear, you were here!

These thorn beds, wild beds fear me away
From the hue and sweet so endearing
Very near to me, yet far off.
My silence sings
To the loneliness of the groves;
I wish, my dear, you were here!

These burning fumes, cruel fumes choke me away
From the food and drink so relishing
Very near to me, yet far off.
My hunger cries out
To the harshness of the hearth;
I wish, my dear, you were here!

The Message

My heart beats into my ears
It brings me a secret message
Of sorrows I have known
Of pleasures forsaken

My eyes search into Times ahead
It finds there a pleasant sight
Of chains we have burnt
Of walls uprooted.

My mind probes into my Soul
It shows me a mystic vision
Of life I have freed
Of death forbidden

Transparency

Can there be darkness enough
In the corners of my heart
To hide a secret face from you?
Oh, God! Perish it if it is there.

Can there be roughness enough
In the tones of my words
To shoot a piercing dart at you?
Oh, God! Destroy it if it is there.

Can there be harshness enough
In the loops of my eyes
To throw a merciless gaze at you?
Oh, God! Remove it if it is there.

The Prisoner

Your love has caged me
For a time yet to come
Won’t it pain you to see my crippled wings?
Break the cage now
For caging me again.

Your care has chained me
For a life yet to live
Won’t it hurt you to see my bleeding flesh?
Cut the chain now
For chaining me again.

Your words have hooked me
On a gasp yet to take.
Won’t it pain you to feel the choking throat
Release the hook now
For hooking me again.

The Bliss of Silence

When we meet there is silence always,
A profound silence.
Where have our words gone
Leaving us in a world of wordlessness?
And I have come from way far off
To meet you, to talk to you

When we part there is silence again,
Silence with meanings added
What have we shared with one another
Saying nothing at all!

But when we think about one another
Words flow out
The two streams of voice meet and clash
Leaving us in a world of utter pains.
Isn’t it better to stick to silence,
For it causes no pain
But brings us only bliss?

Silence

Sitting so close to you I seek the meaning of love
In the luster of your eyes.
What I see I can’t say but feel through silence,
Blissful silence.

Staying far from you I seek the meaning of love
In the sheen of the moon
What I see I can’t say but feel through silence,
Painful silence.

Thinking so deep of you I seek the meaning of love
In the sea of our lives.
What I see I can’t say but feel through silence,
Willful silence.

What the River Says

The river whispers into my ears
In several deep voices
Sorrows of a lifetime,
Happiness of a wink’s time.
Greedy spades are still at work
They dig her chest deep and deep.

The river unveils before my eyes
In several mystic ways
Treasures of a whole life,
Loot of a single night.
Dirty eyes are still on her
They strip her body stark naked.

The river brings to my notice
In several unseen ways
Food for a lifetime
Waste of a lusty lunch
Hungry jaws are still at work
They chew her flesh more and more
